Medical Equipment Consultancy
Formerly known as Hospital Kuala Terengganu, Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah was founded in 1920s. It is located near Pantai Batu Buruk, Kuala Terengganu. This 821 bed state hospital is the lead hospital for the cluster hospitals involving Hospital Hulu Terengganu, Hospital Besut and Hospital Setiu.
For the Specialist Maternity Complex, VEM was awarded the medical equipment consultancy contract, where a comprehensive functional and operational need assessment of the hospital was done, for identification of the equipment scope within the provided medical brief (MBOR). Equipment scheduling was established through Bill of Quantity (BOQ), room-by-room schedules, department schedules and cost estimates. Detailed planning, workflow planning, space and technical services requirements were planned for the necessary interface with architects and engineers.
VEM technical team verified and confirmed that all the medical equipments (fixed and loose equipment) technology was up to date, able to support for the future years ahead, specifications are met and compatible with all hospital support systems such as IT, mechanical and electrical. During installation, testing and commissioning, VEM inspected the site, and managed the end user training then hand over.
Institute of Medical Research (IMR), Setia Alam
Medical Equipment Planning / Equipping
The Institute for Medical Research (IMR) was established by the British in 1900 as the Pathological Institute in Kuala Lumpur. The IMR has since expanded its role and made significant contributions to biomedical research and other medical disciplines. Today, the main functions of the IMR are research, specialised diagnostic services, training and provides technical consultancies.
For the new IMR Setia Alam facility, VEM is the planner and supplier of the laboratory equipment package. VEM is also responsible for the comprehensive maintenance during the 2 years warranty period.
Universiti Teknology Mara (UiTM), Sungai Buloh (CTC)
Medical Planning / Medical Equipment Planning / Equipping
Sungai Buloh campus housed the Medical and Dental faculties of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
For this project, VEM was the appointed medical planning consultant and medical equipment consultant to Tunas Selatan Construction. VEM was also the medical supply subcontractor to Tunas Selatan Construction.
The key medical equipment supplied were anaesthetic machines, ventilators, sterilizers, endoscopic equipment, diagnostic equipment, surgical instruments, haemodialysis machines, laboratory and pharmacy equipment. neonatal incubators and equipment, operation theatre equipment and x-ray and angiography system.
